Elecnor secures €117.4 million EPC contract to build Australia’s largest solar PV farm

Spanish industrial group Elecnor announced this week that it has been awarded a AUD 173 million (EUR 117.4 million) turnkey (EPC) contract for the second phase of the Bungala Solar PV project. The contract for the 137 MWp Bungala Two facility follows the award to Elecnor last April of the contract for the Bungala One plant. This latest contract win establishes Elecnor as the leading player in the Australian solar PV market.

Inovateus Solar Completes Largest PV Installation in South Bend for Notre Dame University

US solar developer, EPC and product supplier, Inovateus Solar, has completed a 144.72-kilowatt (KW) solar photovoltaic installation for the University of Notre Dame. The ground-mounted system is located at the Kenmore Warehouse storage facility and is the largest solar array built by the university to date as well as the biggest PV installation in South Bend.

Dubai-based power project developer Access Power announced today the inauguration of the solar power plant in Soroti made up of 32,680 photovoltaic panels. Scatec Solar secures 100 MW solar project in Nigeria

Norwegian solar company Scatec Solar announced this week that it has signed an agreement with CDIL, a Canadian renewable energy development company focused on Africa, and Business Process Solutions Consult Limited (BPS), a Nigerian strategic consulting firm, securing the 100 MW (DC) Nova Scotia Power plant located in Jigawa State, Nigeria. This agreement was announced in connection with Scatec Solar’s second quarter results.

Neoen and First Solar win 47.5 MW solar project in Zambia with Africa’s lowest ever tariffs

Neoen, a leading French renewable energy firm, and First Solar announced that they have successfully bid for a 47.5 megawatt (MW) AC utility-scale solar power project in Zambia. The consortium was awarded the project by Zambia’s Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) at a groundbreaking tariff of $0.06 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), the lowest seen in sub-Saharan Africa, to date.
