Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), India’s largest renewable energy company and Tata Power’s wholly-owned subsidiary, announced yesterday that it has commissioned its 100 MW solar plant (50MW X 2) at Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka. The project was won by TPREL in May 2016 under the National Solar Mission Phase-II Batch-II Tranche-I State Specific Bundling Scheme. With this development, TPREL’s total installed operating capacity now stands at 1614 MW.
Italian utility Enel., acting through its Brazilian renewables subsidiary Enel Green Power Brasil Participações Ltda. (“EGPB”), announced yerterday that it has been awarded the right to sign 20-year power supply contracts in the country with a new solar PV project of 388 MWdc1, following the A-4 public tender organised by the Brazilian federal government via the country’s energy regulator ANEEL. The Enel Group is expected to invest nearly 355 million US dollars in the construction of the plant, in line with the investment outlined in its current Strategic Plan.
IKEA U.S. announced on November 12 that it had completed the installation of llinois’ largest solar rooftop on its Midwest distribution center under construction in Joliet, IL. Combined with arrays atop the Chicago-area IKEA stores in Bolingbrook and Schaumburg, this third project will make IKEA the owner of three of the state’s largest solar rooftop installations.
Finnish power company Fortum announced today that it has connected a 100-MW solar plant to grid at Pavagada solar park in the Tumkur District, Karnataka, India. This solar plant more than doubles Fortum’s solar production capacity in India from 85 to 185 MW, being Fortum’s fourth, and so far biggest solar energy project built.
