BP re-enters solar market with aquisition of 43% stake in Lightsource for $200M

Capital Stage AG acquires two solar parks in the Netherlands totalling 48 MW

Hamburg-based solar and wind park operator Capital Stage announced on December 4 that it has for the first time acquired two solar parks in the Netherlands. The solar parks have a total generation capacity of 47.6 megawatts (MW) and are expected to be connected to the grid in October 2018.

Tata Power Solar, India’s largest integrated solar player, has been ranked #1 EPC rooftop  solar player in the recently published India Solar Rooftop report 2017 by Bridge To India, a leading  cleantech consulting and knowledge services provider. According to the report, the total installed capacity in  the rooftop segment is 1,396 MW as of 31st March 2017 including commercial, residential & industrial sector. Tata Power Solar leads the EPC market of 678 MW with a market size of over double than the closest  competitor.

Enel wins tender to develop 339 MW of solar capacity in Spain

Enel S.p.A. (“Enel”), acting through its Spanish subsidiary Endesa’s renewable company Enel Green Power España (“EGPE”), has been awarded 339 MW of solar power capacity in Spain. The award followed the tender held on the 26th of July  aiming at collecting 3,000 MW from renewable energies, that was launched by the Spanish Government to help the country achieve its target to cover 20% of energy consumption from renewables by 2020. The solar capacity adds to the 540 MW of wind power capacity that EGPE was already awarded last May.

SEMI forecasts the global semiconductor equipment market to total $43.40 Billion in 2017

SEMI, the global industry association representing more than 2,000 companies in the electronics manufacturing supply chain, reported yesterday that worldwide sales of new semiconductor manufacturing equipment are projected to increase 8.7 percent to $39.7 billion in 2016, according to the SEMI Year-end Forecast, released today at the annual SEMICON Japan exposition. In 2017, another 9.3 percent growth is expected, resulting in a global semiconductor equipment market totaling $43.4 billion.
