EnBW starts building Germany’s largest solar park without state funding

Germany-based energy utility EnBW announced it is constructing its “Weesow-Willmersdorf” solar park with an installed output of 187 megawatts on an area covering 164 hectares located in Germany at around 26 kilometres northeast of Berlin in Werneuchen, Brandenburg.

FRV signs new PPA with Snowy Hydro for the 90MWac Sebastopol Solar Farm in Australia

Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), a global developer of renewable utility-scale projects headquartered in Spain and part of Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy firm Abdul Latif Jameel Energy, announced it has signed a new power purchase agreement (PPA) with Snowy Hydro, one of Australia’s main electricity generation and retailing companies. The agreement will permit FRV to deliver solar power generated from the 90MWac Sebastopol Solar Farm in the State of New South Wales, Australia.

First solar thermal tower plant in Latin America completes lifting and installation of its solar receiver at 220 meters high

Spanish engineering and renewable energy company Abengoa announced that the Cerro Dominador solar thermal project, owned by EIG Global Energy Partners and built by Abengoa and ACCIONA in the Atacama Desert in Chile, has just achieved one of the key milestones of its development before its entry into operation: the raising and installation of its solar receiver at 220 meters high, which was placed in the highest part of the central tower of the complex, which is surrounded by 10,600 heliostats.
