U.S. solar developer Pivot Energy, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, announced it has been awarded 11 community solar projects in Illinois totaling approximately 29.36 MW(dc) of new solar capacity. Pivot Energy’s allocation is the second largest portfolio awarded to a community solar developer in the state.

Solar photovoltaic developer SunPeak, based in Wisconsin, announced yesterday that it has partnered with furniture manufacturer Ashley Furniture Industries, headquartered in Arcadia, Wisconsin, to install solar arrays on ten of its largest U.S. facilities. Construction of the first solar array will begin this week in Romeoville, Illinois.
Starbucks Coffee Company, solar developer Cypress Creek Renewables and U.S. Bank announced this week that they are teaming up on a portfolio of solar farms across Texas. As a part of the deal, two solar farms developed, built and now operated by Cypress Creek, one of the nation’s leading solar companies, are providing enough energy for the equivalent of 360 Starbucks stores in Lone Star State, including stores in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano and Arlington.
UAE-based leading solar developer Yellow Door Energy announced in March the commissioning of a solar plant for Kamal Osman Jamjoom Group (KOJ) in Dubai Investments Park (DIP). The solar plant will generate 7,100 megawatt hours of clean energy in the 20-year lease duration, equivalent to reducing 3,100 metric tons of carbon emissions or removing 680 vehicles from the road.
Enel Green Power announced that El Paso photovoltaic (PV) facility, the largest solar plant built to date in the country is now online. The facility, located in the Cesar Department in northern Colombia, alone accounts for 80% of country’s installed solar capacity.
