Singapore, 30 November 2020 (Solar Business Hub) – Total Solar Distributed Generation (DG), in partnership with Canopy Power, is developing and constructing a solar and battery energy storage hybrid microgrid to deliver clean energy and power remote island Koh Rong Sanloem in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Construction has started, and the project is expected to be completed in April 2021.
Canopy Power has completed a solar PV-energy storage microgrid for sustainable island resort Batu Batu. With an estimated renewable energy contribution of 25 per cent, the microgrid will produce approximately 216 MWh of clean electricity and reduce diesel use for the resort by around 58,000 litres annually. This translates to a reduction of 180 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
Canopy Power has launched the latest update for Hornbill – a technology platform for 24/7 monitoring and management of remote microgrid systems, developed in Singapore.
