New Brunswick, Canada, June 10, 2021 (Solar Business Hub) — The Smart Energy Company, a New Brunswick-based leading renewable energy developer, has been chosen by Canadian electric utility NB Power to assist in the building of their new 1.63MW community solar farm in Shediac, New Brunswick. With over 4,000 solar panels connected to an energy storage system, this is the first utility-scale solar farm in Atlantic Canada.

Greengate Power secures approval to build and operate Canada’s largest solar PV power plant

Greengate Power Corporation (Greengate), a renewable energy company based in Alberta, Canada, announced it has received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) to construct and operate its Travers Solar project pursuant to the Alberta Hydro and Electric Act. Greengate expects to begin construction of the project in 2020, with full commercial operations targeted for 2021.

GP JOULE’s Single-Axis Solar Tracker Successfully Completes 20-year Reliability Testing

Toronto based GP JOULE Canada Corp., a subsidiary of global renewable energy company GP JOULE GmbH headquartered in Germany, announced that the PHLEGON  single-axis tracker has passed a series of accelerated life-cycle tests conducted by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary. The Institute’s Green Building Technology Lab and Demonstration Centre confirmed PHLEGON’s long-term reliability within a wide range of environmental conditions and proved its performance in extreme northern climates.
