Canadian Solar launches its EP Cube residential energy storage solution in Europe

Canadian Solar has officially presented its EP Cube residential energy storage solution at the Genera exhibition in Spain, announcing that it will be successively available in Italy, UK, and Germany.

Launched first in North America last year, the EP Cube is developed and produced by Eternalplanet Energy, a consumer-oriented independent brand of energy technology under Canadian Solar’s CSI Solar subsidiary.

The EP Cube integrates a hybrid inverter and stackable and modular lithium iron phosphate batteries. The whole unit is scalable and customizable from 9.9 kWh to 19.9 kWh capacities and compatible with most existing PV systems, micro-inverters, and EV chargers, making it a versatile solution.

Up to six units can be connected in parallel to deliver up to 119.9 kWh of storage and 45.6 kW output, which is more than enough to fully power the average home with high-surge-current appliances and AC units.

It has a small size of 24.3 cm in thickness and light weight of 35 kg per battery module, making it easy to transport and install.

It can be installed both indoors and outdoors thanks to its IP65 rating, making the system resistant to dust and humidity, and it has a ten-year warranty.

The system has 3 operation modes that are designed to cover a wide range of usage scenarios, such as self-consumption, time-of-use  (TOU) and backup mode. Each mode can be adjusted and monitored via a mobile APP, allowing users to remotely manage in real time energy production, consumption, and storage at home.
