Enphase Energy expands into the residential battery storage market in Austria
California-based supplier of solar microinverters and battery systems, Enphase Energy, announced it has started shipping its IQ Battery storage system to customers in Austria, further expanding the product’s availability in the European market, which is already available to customers in Belgium, Germany, and North America.
Enphase Energy has partnered with installers based in Austria such as HalloSonne GmbH, Chargewell GmbH and Plus PV GmbH to supply homeowners its IQ Battery storage system paired with the complete Enphase Energy System, which offers configurations ranging from 3.5 kWh to an aggregate 42 kWh and can be upgraded throughout the lifetime of the system.
Enphase IQ Batteries feature Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry, which provides a long cycle life and safer operation through excellent thermal stability. The IQ Battery storage system accommodate over-the-air software upgrades for enhanced longevity and come with a 10-year limited warranty. Homeowners can also use the Enphase App to monitor performance and intelligently manage their system. This includes the self-consumption feature, which minimizes the use of electricity from the grid.
In January Enphase Energy announced a partnership with Germany’s leading network of specialist companies for decentralized energy systems, Enerix, which will offer Enphase Energy Systems, powered by IQ Microinverters and IQ Batteries, to its network of more than 100 franchise partners across Germany and Austria.
Austria residential battery storage market is listed within the top four residential battery storage market in Europe, which is expected to grow over 400% by 2025, according to a report by SolarPower Europe.
