EU PVSEC 2021 to be held virtually in September
- EU PVSEC 2021 goes fully virtual.
- EU PVSEC Industry Summit to be held for the first time this year.
- An extensive programme and new event features.
The 38th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) will open its virtual doors for the second time in a row from 6 to 10 September 2021, allowing all international participants to be part of the event despite ongoing global travel restrictions.
After hoping to hold the prestigious event in Lisbon as planned, the organisers have decided to follow the successful concept of 2020 and run the event completely virtual again.
Jonas Bergmiller, Managing Director of Events at WIP GmbH & Co Planungs-KG (WIP) said:
“We would have been delighted to welcome our loyal attendees in person, but their health and safety come first. We are sure that our international community, consisting of participants from over 60 countries, appreciates the benefit of creating a great and reliable online event with progressive features that they can join from the comfort of their home rather than planning an onsite event in a somewhat unpredictable travel environment.”
The online event will provide new modernised features which will offer the participants an easier and more intuitive handling of the platform. Some of the new features include:
- An all-live event with presenters joining in from all around the globe, with the possibility to ask questions and interact with them live on air.
- A new advanced networking tool that ensures easier handling with more features, encouraging more interaction among participants and between attendees and speakers.
- A refreshed poster area that provides refined opportunities for speakers to interact with participants and present their research live.
The EU PVSEC Industry Summit will take place for the first time ever this year with the aim to highlight the importance of promoting the PV industry in Europe and fostering manufacturing capacities within the EU. It will provide a platform for European manufacturers to present their businesses, and share and discuss new developments in the solar PV industrial sector with fellow experts.
This new initiative will provide a forum for the exchange and discussion of industry topics and to connect policymakers and key players along all stages of the value chain. It also intends to sharpen the interface between the latest research findings presented at the conference and the industry enablers who take these research results into real-life production.
Participants can look forward to:
- Conference sessions covering industry topics.
- Industry-related workshops.
- Panel Discussions with industry experts.
- Industry presentations.
- Getting in touch with important players from the industry sector.
The content of the EU PVSEC Industry Summit is intended to be complementary to the conference programme and to fill any gaps, especially within topics covering commercial purposes.
The official conference programme is prepared by the EU PVSEC Scientific Committee, consisting of over 240 PV experts, with the support of the European Commission Joint Research Centre. An astonishing number of papers were received, ensuring the quality, richness and diversity of the programme, same as in previous years.
The PV community can therefore look forward to an excellent online event with an inspiring conference programme, complemented by a broad range of industry topics and other exciting parallel events that will once again be available for streaming on-demand for at least one month after the event.
