Yellow Door Energy commissions solar plant for beauty retailer in Dubai

UAE-based leading solar developer Yellow Door Energy  announced in March the commissioning of a solar plant for Kamal Osman Jamjoom Group (KOJ) in Dubai Investments Park (DIP). The solar plant will generate 7,100 megawatt hours of clean energy in the 20-year lease duration, equivalent to reducing 3,100 metric tons of carbon emissions or removing 680 vehicles from the road.

Enel Green Power brings online El Paso Solar, Colombia’s largest PV plant

Enel Green Power announced that  El Paso photovoltaic (PV) facility, the largest solar plant built to date in the country is now online. The facility, located in the Cesar Department in northern Colombia, alone accounts for 80% of country’s installed solar capacity.

Sonnedix achieves financial close on 36.4MW Kurayoshi solar PV plant in Japan and will begin construction

Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd. announced that Sonnedix Japan K.K.  has obtained financial close on a JPY 14.2 billion (EUR 113.9 million) project financing with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited (SMTB) for the 36.4 MW Kurayoshi solar PV plant.

Solar power more than doubled in most major U.S. cities over past six years, report finds

Over the past six years, solar energy capacity more than doubled in 45 of America’s 57 largest cities, according to a new study released yesterday by Environment America Research & Policy Center. The report, Shining Cities 2019: The Top U.S. Cities for Solar Energy, is the sixth annual edition of the most comprehensive survey of installed solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in major U.S. cities.
