The World Future Council has released its latest report 100% Renewable Energy: Boosting Development in Morocco, which provides an analysis on the current situation of the energy sector of Morocco and derives policy recommendations for a just transition towards 100% Renewable Energy.
The U.S. Energy Alternatives Division of Cupertino Electric announced yesterday that it has reached a major installation milestone on Sempra U.S. Gas & Power and Consolidated Edison Development’s 250-megawatt (MW) AC Copper Mountain Solar 3 project located in Boulder City, Nevada.
According to Frankfurt School-UNEP Centre’s Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment 2015 latest report based on data from Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), global investments in renewable energy rebounded strongly last year, registering a solid 17% increase to $270.2 Billion in 2014 after two years of declines, which reflected several influences, including a boom in solar installations in China and Japan, totalling $74.9 billion between those two countries.
Total global solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity is forecast to reach 498 gigawatts (GW) in 2019, which is 177 percent higher than 2014, according to IHS, the leading global source of critical information and insight. While total global solar PV demand is projected to grow steadily, the large number of discrete country markets at the gigawatt-level will help reduce demand volatility.
