The state-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) announced that is has signed an EPC contract worth THB 842 million (USD 24.47 million) with the consortium of B.GRIM Power – Energy China, comprising B.Grimm Power Plc. (B.GRIM) and China Energy Engineering Group Shanxi Electric Power Engineering Co. Ltd. (Energy China) to build the world’s largest hydro-floating solar hybrid project at Sirindhorn Dam, Ubon Ratchathani province in Thailand.
New Zealand’s electricity utility Vector Ltd and water utility Watercare Services Limited, announced a project to build New Zealand’s largest solar array by floating it on Watercare’s Rosedale Wastewater Treatment Plant on Auckland’s North Shore.
France-based floating solar specialist, Ciel & Terre International, announced that its unit in the US and the Town of Windsor officials have started construction of what will be the largest floating solar power system in the state of California. The floating solar array will be installed on the Town’s largest recycled water storage pond and is expected to meet 90 percent of the Town’s water treatment and pump facilities’ energy needs.
Indonesian power company PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PT PJB), a subsidiary of the state electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), and Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, signed on November 28 2017 a project development agreement (PDA) for the world’s largest floating solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant.
