First Solar, Inc. announced that it has entered into a Membership Interest Purchase Agreement with NovaSource Power Services, a portfolio company of Toronto-based private equity firm Clairvest Group Inc., pursuant to which NovaSource will acquire First Solar’s North American operations and maintenance (O&M) business.

Greengate Power Corporation (Greengate), a renewable energy company based in Alberta, Canada, announced it has received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) to construct and operate its Travers Solar project pursuant to the Alberta Hydro and Electric Act. Greengate expects to begin construction of the project in 2020, with full commercial operations targeted for 2021.
Toronto based GP JOULE Canada Corp., a subsidiary of global renewable energy company GP JOULE GmbH headquartered in Germany, announced that the PHLEGON single-axis tracker has passed a series of accelerated life-cycle tests conducted by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary. The Institute’s Green Building Technology Lab and Demonstration Centre confirmed PHLEGON’s long-term reliability within a wide range of environmental conditions and proved its performance in extreme northern climates.
Strathcona Energy Group (SEG), a Canadian-based holding company specializing in vertically integrated renewable energy solutions, announced today that it has rented the roof space on the barns from the Dresden Agricultural Society as a tenant to install a 250 kilowatt solar array, which has helped to preserve the 140-year-old Dresden Raceway.
