Germany-based renewable energy company BayWa r.e. announced that Austria’s largest electricity company Verbund has purchased its Illora solar park located in Pinos Puente, near Granada in southern Spain with a planned total capacity of 147.6 MWp.

BayWa r.e. announced it has began the construction of two solar parks named Blueberry and Blueberry Central with a total power of 30 MWp on a former military base at La Martinerie in France, which are due to be commissioned at the start of 2021.
BayWa r.e. is building Germany’s first subsidy-free solar park, proving that solar energy can now compete against conventional energy sources in Germany without any financial subsidies. The project Barth V, some 30 kilometres east of Stralsund, has a total capacity of 8.8 MW and construction will start at the beginning of June.
