German organic photovoltaic (OPV) solar film panels manufacturer Heliatek announced it has successfully completed its first installation project in South Korea. Together with strategic partner SAMSUNG Engineering, Heliateck intalled 160 m² of HeliaSol modules on the roof of a gangway between two large office buildings of SAMSUNG Electronics innovation campus in Suwon City near Seoul.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced that it has approved a $7.64 million loan to support the construction of a 100-megawatt (MW) solar power park in Cambodia, which will help the country develop renewable energy resources, diversify its energy mix, and improve the competitiveness of its economy.
American multinational personal care corporation, Kimberly-Clark, announced the switch-on of one of Singapore’s largest solar energy installations at its manufacturing facility in Tuas. The 7,730 photovoltaic panels mounted on its roof will generate 3.5 Gigawatt hours of clean energy, enough to power up a thousand 3-bedroom HDB flats for a year.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced that it has signed a $4 million loan with a special purpose vehicle and subsidiaries owned by the 77 Construction, Contracting, and Trading Group (77 Group), an international civil works contracting firm headquartered in Turkey, to help build a 15.1 megawatt (MW) solar power plant and promote the development of renewable energy in Afghanistan.
