Connecticut-based anaerobic digestion (AD) facility, Quantum Biopower, announced the completion of a solar rooftop installation on Quantum’s Southington anaerobic digestion facility in partnership with Commercial Solar Works (CSW). This installation reduces electricity demand and increases savings for the food-waste-to-electricity plant by adding a second source of renewable energy.
Sympa Solar Power Limited, a joint-venture company of Thailand based solar PV developer, Symbior Solar, and leading Agro based firm in Bangladesh, Paragon Group, announced this week that they signed an Implementation Agreement and Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) for their 8MWac solar power plant to be installed in Tetulia, Panchaghar in north-western Bangladesh.
The Government of Jordan, along with Abu Dhabi’s Enviromena Power Systems and TSK of Spain, inaugurated on April 28 the Quweira solar power plant. U.S. based provider of integrated energy solutions company HelioPower announced the successful installation of a commercial photovoltaic system at the First Lutheran Church of Vista (FLC) in San Diego County. The 70kWDC system is designed to greatly reduce FLC’s levelized cost of energy and marks a significant milestone in FLC’s sustainability program.
State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest commercial Bank, on the occasion of World Earth Day further solidified its commitment to become carbon neutral over time. The Bank has installed 151 solar rooftop sites which will generate 6.23 megawatt (MW) energy. These sites are spread throughout the country.
This will be in addition to the already functional solar capacity of 3 MW and 15 MW through wind energy. The energy generated through these renewable sources are solely for captive use by Bank’s various offices and branches across the country, making them free of any carbon emission.
