Solarcentury to start construction of 150 GWh of solar projects in Spain
Solarcentury announced it will start construction of three solar PV project in Spain totalling 150 MW of installed capacity in the first quarter of 2021.
Located in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia, the three solar PV projects, “Arenosas”, “Malabrigo” and “El Yarte” will require an investment of 75 million euros and will create 400 jobs at its peak.
These projects will be installed on a 350-hectare site and generate 305 GWh of clean energy per year. Each project will have an installed power of 50 MWp, offsetting 90,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
Solarcentury already has four solar projects in Andalusia in the final phase of construction, collectively known as Cabrera Solar, and has developed Talayuela Solar, one of the most important solar projects in Europe at 300 MWp.
The company recently announced it has received grid access for two projects in Valencia which form part of its 2GWp pipeline in Spain.
