sPower’s 22.5MW Sierra Solar project connected to grid in California
sPower, a renewable energy provider based in Salt Lake City, Utah, announced yesterday that its Sierra Solar project, sPower’s first in Los Angeles County, has successfully been completed and has started operation.
The 22.5MW solar farm is now delivering clean, reliable energy to Southern California Edison (SCE) under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
sPower CEO, Ryan Creamer said:
“This important milestone is another renewable energy success story for the Antelope Valley. It is a result of a years-long collaborative effort from everyone involved – from LA County’s Department of Regional Planning to Lancaster landowners to SCE to our EPC partner. It is exciting to see the project become fully operational, and we look forward to continuing to foster an ongoing relationship with LA County.”
