U.S. based provider of integrated energy solutions company HelioPower announced the successful installation of a commercial photovoltaic system at the First Lutheran Church of Vista (FLC) in San Diego County. The 70kWDC system is designed to greatly reduce FLC’s levelized cost of energy and marks a significant milestone in FLC’s sustainability program.
State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest commercial Bank, on the occasion of World Earth Day further solidified its commitment to become carbon neutral over time. The Bank has installed 151 solar rooftop sites which will generate 6.23 megawatt (MW) energy. These sites are spread throughout the country.
This will be in addition to the already functional solar capacity of 3 MW and 15 MW through wind energy. The energy generated through these renewable sources are solely for captive use by Bank’s various offices and branches across the country, making them free of any carbon emission.
The Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA) was selected by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to participate in a collaborative research effort to explore new ways solar energy can improve the affordability, reliability, and resiliency of the nation’s electric grid.
Malaysia company Sabah Development Energy Sdn. Bhd. (SDE), a subsidiary of Sabah Petroleum International Sdn. Bhd. owned by Sabah’s Ministry of Finance and Bangkok based Symbior Solar, a leading solar PV developer with a focus on developing solar PV projects across Asia, announced on March 31 the award of the largest solar PV project in Labuan and their joint venture to develop 50MW of high-efficiency solar PV projects in Malaysia.
