U.S. based solar company SunPower announced in October that it had completed in under six months the installation of a 8.79 megawatt solar system spanning across four parking garages at Toyota Motor North America‘s new 100-acre headquarters in Plano, Texas. SunPower was also responsible for the original design of the solar system.
Nestlé Middle East announced yesterday that it has signed agreements, witnessed by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), with Yellow Door Energy, Dubai’s leading provider of lease-to-own solar power solutions, and ALEC Energy, a DEWA-approved solar contractor, to install solar photovoltaic panels that will provide renewable energy to three manufacturing sites in Dubai, and contribute to the reduction of 6000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
U.S. based WGL Energy Systems, a WGL company headquartered in Washington, D.C., announced on December 18 that it has entered into an agreement with Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania to develop a 3.9 MW DC (3 AC MW) ground-mounted solar array that will supply 30 percent of the university’s electricity needs.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), India’s largest renewable energy company and Tata Power’s wholly-owned subsidiary, announced yesterday that it has commissioned its 100 MW solar plant (50MW X 2) at Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka. The project was won by TPREL in May 2016 under the National Solar Mission Phase-II Batch-II Tranche-I State Specific Bundling Scheme. With this development, TPREL’s total installed operating capacity now stands at 1614 MW.
