IKEA’s rooftop solar array atop store to be the largest of its kind in Nevada

IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishings retailer, announced on Monday that the solar installation is complete atop its Las Vegas store which will be opening May 18, 2016. Once commissioned, the project will be the largest single-use retail rooftop solar array in Nevada.

1,000 Solar Panels Power Major Water Treatment Works in Scotland

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed yesterday a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate $848 million (Rs. 5,681 crore) in funding to develop solar parks across India. The agreement was signed by Jonathan Addleton, Mission Director, USAID/India and M. Teresa Kho, Country Director, India Resident Mission, Asian Development Bank.

Solar array installed by Strathcona helps preserve Historic Dresden Raceway in Ontario

Strathcona Energy Group (SEG),  a Canadian-based holding company specializing in vertically integrated renewable energy solutions, announced today that it has rented the roof space on the barns from the Dresden Agricultural Society as a tenant to install a 250 kilowatt solar array, which has helped to preserve the 140-year-old Dresden Raceway.

World record total of $286 billion invested in renewables in 2015, says UNEP’s report

Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment 2016“, the 10th edition of UNEP’s annual report, launched today by the  Frankfurt School-UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), says the annual global investment in new renewables capacity, at $266 billion, was more than double the estimated $130 billion invested in coal and gas power stations in 2015.
